International Labour Organisation stands for promoting Social Security among workers. Duty is cast on the Member Nations to enforce by law the conventions of ILO. Majority of ILO convention relates to Social Securities schemes. The Employees State Insurance Act (ESI in short) is brought out in India on the basis of the ILO convention on “Social Insurance”. The ESI Act was passed in the year 1948. The statutory organisation known as the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) was formed under the ESI Act for implimentation of the ESI Schemes. |

Due to vastness of our country and the considerable preparatory work involved on the part of the ESIC,the ESI schemes envisaged in the ESI Act could not be implemented in our country silmultaneously. Hence a plan for implementation of ESI was drawn in stages. The same was extended step by step to the different areas of employment as well as to different geological areas in our country. |

The Government has notified extending the ESI Act to Educational Institutions. The GO no:1833 dated 09/10/2007 has been issued as a Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification in this regard. |

| Objective of the Training |
| |
ESI scheme needs a through knowledge of the procedures for its implementation, right from the coverage of the organisation and day to day administration of the scheme. The practical knowledge required for implementing the ESI scheme can be imparted only by a person who has the first hand knowledge of implementing the scheme. It might appear to be simple, but a person who has to handle the scheme has to be well equipped and trained in advance to handle the scheme efficiently and effectively. This training programme is specifically designed for that purpose. |

| The training programme will cover the following areas. |
* Introduction Labour Laws in India. |
| * Coverage of the organisation under the ESI Act. |
| * Coverage of the employees under the ESI Act. |
| * Collection and remittance of the ESI contributions. |
| * Maintenance of records and registers under the Act. |
| * Preparation and submission of periodical returns of the scheme. |
| * How to get ready for ESI inspection. |
| * Important legal Definitions-Wages, Employment injury, Notional extension of the time and place of work, contract LabourAct and ESI Act. |

| Faculty |
| |
A.G Ramaswamy - Former Legal Officer TVS Cochin and Co- ordinator of Adept consortium shall be the Core Faculty of the Training program. Very recently he conducted a similar training for Greater Cochin Hospital Association at Cochin in which 30 hospitals deputed their personnel for the training. |

| Who shall Attend ? |
| |
This training programme is organised for those who are responsible to handle the implementation of the ESI scheme in an organisation. Persons working in positions like Administrators, HR Executives, Pay roll Accountant, Administrative Executives, etc. are the target group of this programme. |

The venue of the training programme is Kochi, which will be conducted at the training centre of any one of the professional organisations. |

| Duration, Date and Time |
| |
The training shall be for one days from 8AM to 4 PM. We had already conducted 3 programes on ESI. We propose to hold 2 programe in the month of April 2008 on the dates given below. The participant shall be allowed to choose any one of the dates so that his / her work is least affected.The exact venue and dates shall be intimated well in advance to those who register for the training programme. |

| In order to give personal attention we have limited seats in each programme.Hence you are requested to register in advance by e-mail and send the confirmation with fees by courier so as to reach us within next 3 days.If the confirmation and fees do not reach us within the stipulated time the registration will be automatically cancelled. |

| Training Materials. |

Besides the usual training materials like folder, pad, pen, etc. the following items shall also be provided with the oranisations through the trainees at no extra cost. |

| ::: Registers to be maintained under the ESI rules. |
::: CD containing formats of forms and returns,
for the day to day administration of the ESI scheme. |

| Tea and Lunch will be served to the trainees during the training time. |

| Fee |
| |
The fee payable shalll be Rs. 900/- . The amount may be paid by cheque or draft payable at Ernakulam drawn in favour of M/s. Adept Management consultants consortion. Please add Rs.100/- for outstation cheque.The Fee is imculsive of the cost of the above items . |

Organisation, who desire to depute their officers and staff for the training programme may please send the registration form either by mail, fax or by E-mail. We do not encourge spot registration. Hence please depute persons only against our acceptance of the nominations. |
